On February 27, 1969, a normal man was born at 1000 AM at Our Lady Of The Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; on April 5, 2001, a Kappa Man was born at 1109 PM in Lawton, Oklahoma. This man is a fourth generation member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. In the beginning, the Kappa legacy evolved in 1926 with the late Dr. C.J. Boston,Senior (Kappa Chapter-Meharry Medical College). The second generation of Kappa began in 1953, when Dr. Horace Oscar Boston, Senior was initiated into Alpha Sigma Chapter at Southern University. Thirty-three years later, in 1986, Horace Oscar Boston II, was initiated into the Lawton/Ft.Sill Alumni Chapter. Meanwhile, fifteen years later, Constantine Philpot Thomas, grandson of Dr. C.J. Boston, Senior,nephew of Dr. Horace Oscar Boston, Senior, and cousin of Horace Oscar Boston II was initiated into the Lawton/Ft. Sill Alumni Chapter. As a result, the legacy of Kappa has been in existence for 75 years and four generations.
About Me:
I am a product of a family that encourages in achievement in every field of human endeavor. My parents are educators at the college level. My mother has a MA in Sociology from Atlanta University, while my father has a Ph.D in Sociology from Louisiana State University. My sister has a BA in Psychology from Mississippi University for Women and is working on a M.Ed in Counseling at Mississippi State University. As for me, I hold a BA in Political Science from Clark Atlanta University (1991) and a MS.Ed in Social Science Education from Jacksonville State University (1996). Currently, I am working on my Ed.S in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Missouri State University. I hope to attain the Ed.D someday and teach at a HBCU (Historically Black College And University). My research area is African American Educational Foundations. I have taught social studies on the middle school level.My family is part of the Talented Tenth.
